But, Bulgaria saved its Jews. The only country under Nazi occupation, where the Jewish population has increased.

In Bulgaria there are 49 172 Jews. (after the war)

You Bulgarians were different from other European nations. There were people who tried to help Jews persecuted by the Nazis. There were people who managed to partially save Jews but recognized the historical fact is that most European peoples reconciled with the monstrous "final solution" of Hitler and in many cases even contributing to its realization.

“The Bulgarian society doesn’t understand the real meaning of the Jewish question. Beside the few rich Jews in Bulgaria there are many poor people, who make their living as workers and artisans. Partly raised together with Greeks, Armenians, Turks and Gypsies, the average Bulgarian doesn’t understand the meaning of the struggle against the Jews, the more so as the racial question is totally foreign to him.”
